Augustus brings nearly a decade of artistic apprenticeship and personal exploration to his practice, anchoring his creative journey as a studio artist at ArtWorks: A Contemporary Arts Center in Loveland, Colorado. As well as, studying sculpture and ceramics at Colorado State University. Within this vibrant collective of professional artists dedicated to honing their craft, Augustus actively contributes to the community’s rich tapestry of contemporary arts. His involvement extends beyond studio walls, as he collaborates with fellow artists and curators to curate engaging events that celebrate the essence of modern artistic expression.

Throughout his tenure at ArtWorks, Augustus has garnered recognition, securing placements in esteemed juried art shows and clinching the coveted title of Best in Show at the distinguished Engulfed gallery opening. As a sculptor adept in manipulating diverse mediums such as bronze, steel, concrete, and plaster, alongside immersive installations, his work serves as a poignant exploration of the intricacies of the human experience.

In addition to his studio practice, Augustus assumes the role of artist apprentice and conservator, cultivating his expertise in welding and fabrication under the tutelage of acclaimed artist Jane DeDecker. This multifaceted role sees him contributing his skills across various aspects of artistic production, from mould-making and wax pouring to design conceptualization and installation execution. As a conservator affiliated with Sculpture Services, Augustus extends his craftsmanship to the meticulous restoration and maintenance of sculptures nationwide, safeguarding these sculptural landmarks against the ravages of time and environmental degradation while nurturing their graceful ageing process.
